Tack-Fu & the 85 decibel Monks collaborate often with the Bad Fathers:
Below is a quick bio of the group with rare mp3's.

|
A five piece live hip-hop outfit originally formed in Iowa City, Iowa consisting of MCs Juan Hooks & Austin Galante with spoken word artist and vocalist Cousin. Jethro continues to kick the live guitar responsibilities and is the main man behind the studio production, engineering, and song arrangement. The line-up in Iowa City also had Kyle Marxen on bass & Greg Moomey providing the beat. Derek Thorn a.k.a. Animosity made frequent guest appearances on the mic along with occasional appearances by 2002 Scribble Jam champ DJ Skwint on the turntables.
The Bad Fathers have released four (soon to be five) full length CDs, an EP, plus two 12” vinyl record releases.
The first production in 1997 (Harvest Time) was under the group name The Committee followed by an EP (Too Many Sheets) in 2000 which featured DJ #0 from Slipknot, and another full length cd (Throwing Chicken Bones @ the Crack House) which dropped in 2002.
In 2002 they started their own record label titled Rosemary Records and renamed the group Bad Fathers. 2003 introduced the release of a 12" titled “Swallow for Iowa” which rose to #2 on Insomniac Magazine’s record pool charts. The beginning of 2004 introduced the release of the full length cd titled “Go Poke a Hole in Yourself” along with extensive touring. Late 2004 saw another 12” release titled “Evolution is Outdated” with a track produced by DJ Vadim. In 2005 they dropped another full length cd titled “Angles in the Chamber” which featured a guest appearance by Cee-Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley fame. The media hype surrounding the release opened the door for a 21 city warped tour 05’ a sponsorship with Toyota Scion, followed by a 3 gig showcase at SXSW in Austin, Tx.
The group decided to push the band forward in the public eye even further with a move to Los Angeles in 2007. Drummer Tye Friis along with bassist Miah was added to the mix. They signed with SLK Entertainment/Records and the Milestone Booking Agency within months of arrival.
Networking and media hype lead the way to music placements in major motion pictures. The song, "Guess What Daddy Wants," is featured in the 2008 MGM film, "College." The song "January" was pressed on half a million discs for UPN's Digital Lounge Series. Another single, "Hurting," is featured in Ronnie Romero's latest wakeboarding movie UPDOG.
The band has a solid reputation as an entertaining, quality sounding live act with a fan base that guarantees healthy attendance. They’ve opened for a who’s who of hip-hop music heavyweights: Lil’ John, Ja Rule, Rakim, Atmosphere, Yin Yang Twins, Cee Lo Green, Naughty by Nature, Kotton Mouth Kings, Pharcyde, 8 Ball and MJG, The world Famous Beat Junkies, and countless others.
