It’s been quite a journey over the last 10 years. I was making demo tapes
with a beat up 4-track
and a sampler in a cheap 2 bedroom apartment on Benton St. in Iowa City with a roommate who made
nightlife not only a style...but a way of life. Trust me folks, I was about it, ‘bout it. I was burning
the candle at both ends and torching the middle.
When I got my own pad, my mindset and my head cleared and I completely immersed myself in the craft of
making music. Changes began to take place, like setting goals, achievement in the field, and focusing on
simple improvement. After six years of commitment there was no turning back. Besides, how can I explain
those gaps of unemployment? A real job was out of the question. I started to run around with top musicians
and studio engineers in the area. I was getting press and putting on live shows. Hell, I put out 3
self-produced and financed cds in a span of 6 years, and in that time frame made next to nothing for
the efforts. What the F*#k!?
So, I submitted original music to publishing companies for television placement, and around 2005
some of them started to land. A few here and there at first, but then the ball started to roll. Soon it wasn’t
uncommon for me to be at home, watching TV with a brew in my right hand, and hearing my tracks on MTV specialty
shows or VH1’s “Behind the Music.” The list of cable networks picking up my stuff now includes Bravo, A&E,
Discovery, and USA among others. Independent documentaries started to get in the mix. Presently you can hear
my stuff on rotation on satellite radio XM and that is a true accomplishment.
From the low beginnings of Tack-Fu
the music producer to a production team titled the 85 decibel Monks. Well worth the time effort and real world education.
I have many other projects in the works and the sky is the limit. Stay tuned; I’ve been working this major motion picture angle....

The MG you see in front of me is a direct result of royalties
from television placements. I pedaled a bike, rode the bus,
and walked the streets for several years before I made the
purchase. As a side note, as fun as it looks to cruise around
in.....it’s worthless in the frozen Iowa winters.
